COMMITMENT TO DIVERSITY AND INCLUSION

Cygnet Players strives to create an accessible and welcoming environment for members and audiences. 

Cygnets wants to do better in terms of diversifying our membership and being inclusive. We are doing three things to change this:

1. Choosing shows that tell stories from different perspectives and committing to authentic storytelling through casting 

2. Widening participation through community engagement and building reciprocal relationships with other local groups with different memberships to ours 

3. Conscious and non traditional casting opportunities across age, race, disability, gender and sexuality 

 

We also have a Code of Conduct and a Cast Liaison to ensure rehearsals are a safe and fun environment.

 

We know we will not always get it right. We recognise we will always be a work in progress and continually strive to do better.
